Hikers’ paradise

Your holiday resort Sankt Leonhard is the starting point for numerous stunning hikes in the popular Tyrolean mountains. Varied paths and trails offer a unique experience for the whole family, taking you past rushing mountain streams, while inhaling the scent of wonderful mountain herbs. High-alpine tours above 3 000 metres, such as the famous Wildspitze (at 3 768 m the highest mountain in Tyrol) are also possible from Pitztal.

Rifflesee- circular walk

Even the gondola ride to the Rifflesee provides an impressive panoramic view of the Pitztal Alps. From the top station plenty of leisurely hikes are on offer for the whole family. If you feel like it you can hike on to the Brandkogel.

This track combines five alpine pastures at an altitude of 1 800 m: Arzler Alm, Tiefentaler Alm, Neuberg Alm, Mauchele Alm and Söllberg Alm are connected by this route.

From Mandarfen onto one of the most beautiful high-altitude trails to the Taschhaus and descent. With views of the Wildspitze and the Taschachferner.

Difficulty: red

Good shoes, sure-footedness and the correct clothing (jumper, windproof jacket, sunglasses, sun cream), are absolutely necessary for this route.

In summer, the Kaunergrat – Pitztal Nature Park opens up diversity in the smallest of spaces. Experience the magnificent high altitude mountain landscape, the extraordinary flowing dry grasslands, the mighty glacier at the end of the valley and different protected areas in the nature park. Interesting exhibitions perfectly round off the summer experience.

The huts and alms in Pitztal have a wonderful combination of originality and comfort.
